UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

People want to feel significant. How do we assure others that they are valued? We treat them with love, justice and generosity.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

At the heart of this lesson is the summons to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. The imitation of the character of God is best seen and portrayed in the life of Jesus Christ. Christians are exhorted to take on the character and righteousness of Jesus Christ. Our lives conform to His likeness when we seek to live out what it means to be His disciples. In John 13:34-35, Jesus said that the real test of discipleship and the recognition of that by the world would be the love that His followers had one for one another.

WORD POWER:

Holy (Hebrew:Qodesh)—apartness, holiness, sacredness, hallowed, holy. The noun is the essential nature of that which belongs to the sphere of the sacred and which is thus distinct from the common or profane.

PRAYER:

Lord God, we bless You for the lessons that we have learned in our study of Your Word today. May the practical truths become a living reality in our lives and in the life of our church. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
